I’m not complaining – the gulf waters proved to be bloody fantastic – it’s just that Exmouth offers so much you want to experience it all … Just about all my time was spent exploring the limitless array of flats, sand cays, reefs and creeks on the eastern side of the gulf. A recent exploratory trip only served to fuel the fire – now back home on the east coast, I’d happily cut off vital body parts in order to return to the west, especially as I only had a brief taste of the gamefishing action and didn’t fish the reef at all.
